Intentions, and putting intentions into action

So here we are – December 1st. And I have an almost complete spread before midnight, so I think I’ve progressed from bystander to novice.

On the back of my title page, I created an ‘intentions’ page of sorts highlighting the quote from Ali Edwards that I want to guide my focus when creating this album for the next 30 days.

I bought a selection of the AC Shimelle Christmas collection last year but didn’t get around to using it so you’ll see a lot of it this year. In addition to the 12 x 12 pad, Im loving the number chipboard and the word stickers. The colours are beautiful and the introduction of aqua in addition to reds, greens and cream let’s you go either traditional or modern on a page by page basis.

Plus, there was just something about the combination of the camera paper from that line and the  Heidi Swap minc polaroid frame that spoke to me.  The tag and tis the season banner are also from the Hedid swap minc christmas collection. I have “pre minc-ed” the whole ephemera pack, and the snowflake pack too. I suspect there will be occasions when this frustrates me colour wise,  but time wise it was essential.  The tiny wood veneer letters are from Spotlight.

Intentions and kicking off Day 1

My story for December 1 is really about putting up our Christmas tree.I just love putting up the Christmas tree and this time it was extra special since its our first Christmas in our new apartment on the eve of getting married.

December 1st – The missing Christmas tree shot

On the right hand side, I used the project life app to make a quick collage of our new ornaments for this year. Printed on my selphy with the border option on, I backed it with shimelle ornament paper. Below that I cut up the card paper from the Shimelle pad and wrote a few words about decorating the tree. Topped off with a clear 3d  star, this page has minimal embellishment, but I’m happy with that as ultimately the right hand side will be the focus.

On the left hand side, I hit my first hiccup. My household is an android household, so all those awesome apps that produce adorable bokeh inspired christmas tree pictures are off limits to me. But I am determined to find a way to do it, and when i do (hopefully before the end of December) the trees will be replaced with one navy and rose gold tree.
